RIVERDALE, UT - Summer Allen and Billie Hatch led the Wildcats in the snowy 2021 Big Sky Winter Cross Country Championships on Saturday, February 27th. The meet was hosted by Weber State University at the Riverside Golf Course in Riverdale, Utah.Â
The meet consisted of the schools in the Big Sky Conference, including: Northern Arizona, Southern Utah, Montana State, Idaho, Eastern Washington, Sacramento State, Idaho State, Montana, Portland State, and Northern Colorado.
"I was very pleased with how the women raced today," said women's head coach, Paul Pilkington. "We knew they were capable of that type of performance and they delivered. It was their best race of the season."
The Weber State women competed very well on the 5K course, despite the snowy and cold weather conditions. The Wildcats earned second place overall in the championship with 73 points, just behind Northern Arizona. Summer Allen crossed the finish line first for Weber State, finishing in second place with a time of 17:08.7. Billie Hatch wasn't far behind, and came in at 17:41.2 to earn 10th place. Cheyenne Leatham finished next, in 18th place with a time of 18:14.7.
