The Wildcats were split between three meets on April 2nd and 3rd, and came away with some fantastic performances all around.

"It was quite a busy weekend," said men's head coach Corbin Talley. "And a lot of fun as we were represented at three track meets in three different states. There were some strong highlights from each meet."

University of Oregon - Hayward Premiere

"At the University of Oregon, it was the first track meet at the 'new' Hayward Field and the conditions were perfect. Tracen Warnick ran a big PR of 8:52 in the steeple and finished 4th despite falling on the final water jump (he was battling for the victory on that final lap). And Christian Allen and Taylor Dillon ran extremely tough in the 10,000m. Christian hit our #2 All-Time with 28:54, and Taylor is now #3 All-Time with 29:08."

Christian Allen ran well in the men's 10000 meter run, finishing in 12th place with a time of 28:54.58. This time is the second best in Weber State history, and third in the Big Sky Conference rankings.

Taylor Dillon finished 19th in the men's 10000 meter run, finishing with a time of 29:08.13. This time puts him third on WSU's All-Time list, and fourth in the Big Sky rankings.

In the men's 3000 meter steeplechase, Tracen Warnick finished fourth with a time of 8:52.70. This time puts Warnick in first place in the most current Big Sky rankings.

UVU Collegiate Invitational

"I'm very proud of the throwing group at this point early in the season," said throws coach Paul Barrett. "We had a few PRs and all-time marks. The javelin crew did a really good job considering we took a break through the indoor season."

In the men's 1500 meter run, Kayden Harmon finished seventh with a time of 3:56.16.

Jamison Wilkes competed well in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing in first place with a time of 9:29.28. Carson Wilkins finished third with a time of 9:37.75.

In the men's pole vault, Trey Deveraux finished second with a mark of 16-10.75. This mark puts Deveraux in second on the WSU All-Time list. Lachlan Burns vaulted with a mark of 16-06.75 to earn fourth place in the meet and on the WSU All-Time bests list.

Cody Canard earned first place in the men's javelin with a mark of 205-10. This is a PR for Canard, and earns him the seventh place spot on WSU's All-Time list. This mark is also currently ranked #5 in the Big Sky Conference.

"We're just getting into the throws and I'm excited to see how well they're doing. We've done a lot of heavy training lately to try and prepare the team for later in the season. I'm very proud of how they've done, with all of the change we've made," said Barrett. "It's good to see these early PR marks and all-time marks, we hope to have more breakthroughs later in the season."

Grand Canyon University - Antelope Invite

"On a hot day at the Grand Canyon Invite, Xakai Harry hit an all-time mark in the long jump (24'04) our best jump in 8 years. Our 4x100 team ran a strong early season time of 41.18, and we had a number of PRs in the hurdles and the 5000m," said Talley.

In the men's 100 meter dash, Isaac Tillett finished fifth place with a time of 10.86. Cade Palmer finished in eighth place with a time of 11.04, and Muamer Mujic finished ninth at 11.12.

Cyrus Rindlisbacher finished seventh in the men's 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.61. Caleb Whitney finished eighth in the race with a time of 14.66.

Tillett also did well in the men's 200 meter dash, finishing sixth with a time of 21.95.

Caleb Whitney took second place in the men's 400 meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 54.40.

Jacob Stone did well in the men's 5000m, earning fourth place with a time of 14:41.74. Logan Anderson finished seventh in the race, coming in at 14:47.08.

In the men's 4x100, "Weber State A" made up of Isaac Tillett, Cade Palmer, Alex Wheeler, Xakai Harry, Muamer Mujic, and Colton Reifschneider, finished second with a time of 41.18.

In the 4x400, "Weber State A" made up of Isaac Tillett, Matt Masias, Caleb Whitney, Cyrus Rindlisbacher, Alex Wheeler, and Jed Smith, finished third with a time of 3:18.29.

Xakai Harry did well in the men's long jump, earning third place with a 24-04.25 mark. This performance puts Harry in seventh place on WSU's All-Time list.

"Really proud of my coaching staff this week as well as they were split over three meets," said Talley. "It's early, and we have work to do, but the team is headed in the right direction. We're excited for more opportunities and more experiences in the upcoming weeks."
