Visser has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the steeplechase.

Peter Visser is heading to the NCAA Championships. Visser qualified for the NCAA meet in the 3,000-meter steeplechase following his performance at the NCAA West First Round meet on Friday in College Station, Texas.

It's his second NCAA Championship appearance this academic year as he also competed in the NCAA's in cross country.

Visser finished 12th overall in the steeplechase on Friday afternoon with a time of 8:40.17. He was third in his heat, with the top three automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

Earlier this year, Visser posted a career-best time of 8:35.98 in the event at the Stanford Invitational. That time currently ranks as the fifth-best in Weber State history. Visser also set a school record in the 5,000 meters this season.

The junior from Afton, Wyoming, finished second in the steeplechase and the 5,000 meters at the Big Sky Championships earlier in May in Sacramento.

The NCAA Championships will be held June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon.

Two other Wildcats also qualified for the NCAA First Round meet in the steeplechase. Freshman Owen Rogers competed in the meet for the first time in his career and finished 31st overall with a time of 9:05.63.

Senior Ty Davis concluded his Wildcat career by also competing in the event. He finished 42nd overall with a time of 9:19.99.

"I'm really proud of this Steeple crew," said Weber State head coach Corbin Talley. "They've put so much heart into representing the Steeple tradition at Weber State. It's great to have Ty here in his final season and awesome to have Owen at the NCAA first round as a freshman. And we're stoked to have Peter heading on to the finals. He's extremely committed to the Steeplechase craft—the hurdling, the pacing, the toughness—that it takes to be successful. He will represent us well in Eugene."

The Wildcat men's 4x400-meter relay team also qualified for the NCAA First Round meet. The team of Rodee Brow, Orion Barger, Colby Anderson, and Alex Wheeler finished 21st in the event with a time of 3:09.54, the second-fastest mark of the season. It is also the fifth-fastest time in Weber State history.

"It was such a phenomenal year for our 4 x 400 crew," Talley added. "Even without advancing to the NCAA finals, I want to celebrate their work and their toughness. This group of Rodee, Alex, Colby, Orion, and Tristan has been so great this season—the best 400m squad in school history. Coach Tawnie Moore has done an incredible job getting them to this point."
