Peter Visser, Ty Davis, Owen Rogers, and the 4x400 meter relay team will all compete at the NCAA West First Round meet in College Station, Texas.

Weber State men's track and field has four qualifying sports for the NCAA West Region First Round. The meet will be held May 28-31 in College Station. The top 48 athletes in the West Region in each event qualify for the championships.

The top 12 finishers in each event at the region meet will advance to the NCAA Championships.

The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live results available at WeberStateSports.com.

The 'Cats will have three athletes in the steeplechase and one relay team competing at the meet.

WSU scored 16 points in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Big Sky Championship, and the steeplechase at the NCAA West region meet will include three Wildcats.

The steeplechase will be held at 4:40 p.m. Mountain time on Friday, May 30.

Peter Visser enters the meet ranked 12th in the west region. He is competing at the first round meet for the second straight year.

He was second in the steeplechase and the 5,000 meters at the Big Sky Championships.

Earlier this year, Visser posted a career best time of 8:35.98 in the event at the Stanford Invitational. That time currently ranks as the fifth-best in Weber State history. Visser also set a school record in the 5,000 meters this season.

He competed in the NCAA first round meet last season in the steeplechase and also qualified for the NCAA Championship in cross country.

Ty Davis is ranked 21st in the west in the steeplechase. He posted a career best time of 8:40.46 at the Stanford Invitational to qualify for the first round meet. Davis also qualified for the first round meet last season.

Owen Rogers also qualified in the steeplechase and is ranked 33rd in the event with a seasonal best time of 8:46.49.

This will be his first time competing in the first round meet.

The Wildcats also have a team in the 4x400 meter relay and are ranked 13th in the west heading into the event. The relay team of Rodee Brow, Colby Anderson, Tristan Spalding, and Alex Wheeler qualified for the meet after setting a school record earlier this season.

At the BYU Robison Invitational in April, the team posted a time of 3:05.17, which converts to 3:05.61. The time broke the 24-year-old Weber State school record by more than two seconds. It was also the second-fastest relay time in Big Sky history.

The 4x400 meter relay will be contested on Friday, May 30, at 7:45 p.m. Mountain time.

The NCAA Championships will be held June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon.
