WSU Soccer Opens Big Sky Conference Play Against Idaho

After a tough out of conference schedule, Weber State soccer is ramped up and ready to start Big Sky Conference play at Wildcat Soccer Field on Friday night against the visiting Vandals of Idaho.
Weber State went 3-5 in out of conference play with wins coming against the Oral Roberts, in-state rival Dixie State, and the Big 12's Kansas State.
The Wildcats' first match in Big Sky play comes against the Idaho Vandals who are 6-1-1 on the season and are off to the best start in program history.
WEBER STATE
-Weber State hosted and nearly qualified for the Big Sky tournament last season with a 4-3-3 (3-2-2) record.
-Freshman phenom Morgan Furmaniak leads the Wildcats in goals (2), points (5), shots (12), and shots on goal (4).
-The Wildcats' defense is led by 2020-21 Big Sky Newcomer of the Year Hailey Price.
-Weber State is returning both of its primary goalkeepers from the 2020-21 season in Kaytlin Bradley and Mekell Moss.
-In the Big Sky preseason coaches poll, Weber State was tabbed by the coaches to finish sixth in the conference, and received one first place vote.
IDAHO
-The Vandals are off to a 6-1-1 start is their best start in program history.
-Idaho returns 22 letter winners from its team that made the conference tournament in the spring season.
-Seven Vandals have found the back of the net for Idaho this season, and they are led by Maddy Lasher who has three.
-Avrie Fox has spent the most time between the posts for Idaho this season, and has only allowed four goals in five starts.
Tickets to the match can be purchased online or by calling the Weber State ticket office at 801-626-8500. All Big Sky Conference games can be watched on ESPN+. The first 100 students in attendance for the conference opener will get free pizza.
