Wildcats Head to California for Judi Garman Classic

Weber State Softball kicks off the Judi Garman Classic in southern California on Friday, as it starts one of its toughest stretches of play of the entire season. Over the upcoming weekend, Weber State will play Texas A&M (12-2), #6 UCLA (14-3), Seattle (9-6), Penn (2-3), and Cal State Fullerton (12-5).

WEBER STATE (13-2)
-In Weber State's win against Nevada, the Wildcats set a school record for longest winning streak at 11 consecutive games. They had reached ten games in 2017 and in 2019.
-Weber State's winning streak included a win against Kansas, two wins against a previously undefeated UNLV team, and an unbelievable comeback against Utah Valley when the Wildcats were trailing 7-0.
-As a team, WSU leads the Big Sky Conference in hitting with a .327 average, which is also 27th best in the country.
-Weber State's 138 team hits rank them in a tie for 15th in the nation, and lead the Big Sky Conference.
-The Wildcats rank in the top 25 in the country in runs (97) and runs per game (6.47), both of which are tops in the Big Sky.
-Wildcat pitching had been excellent thus far on the season, leading the conference in ERA (2.91), strikeouts (113), and opponent batting average (.241)
-Chloe Camarero currently has eight home runs which are a career high and also tie her for third place in the nation. The super senior also leads the conference in runs (19), RBI (17), total bases (48), and slugging (1.043). Camarero is the defending Big Sky Player of the Week.
-Katelyn Whiting has shown a knack for getting on base and leads the Big Sky in OBP (.533).
-Against Winthrop, Lauren Hoe, the defending Big Sky Conference Player of the Year, smacked seven RBI and had nine total bases, both of which are the most by any player in the conference in a single game this season.
