GAME NOTES: Wildcats Ready for Tournament in San Diego

Weber State softball commences a weekend tournament in San Diego on Thursday. For their final competition in this extended trip in California, the Wildcats will face off against San Diego State, CSUN, and San Diego. Following this tournament, the Wildcats will have a ten day break followed by the home opener on March 22 against Utah Valley.

WEBER STATE (17-4)

Team
-At 17-4, the Wildcats are off to the best start in program history and have won multiple games against teams from power five conferences for the first time since 2019.
-Earlier this season Weber State rattled off 12 wins in a row which set a new program record for longest winning streak.
-WSU is currently ranked 41st in RPI which leads the Big Sky Conference.
-Through 21 games, Weber State leads the conference in runs (113), hits (167), slugging (.470), and RBI (99).
-Wildcat pitching leads the Big Sky in ERA (2.83), shutouts (four), runs surrendered (69), strikeouts (156), and opponent batting average (.233).
-Mary Kay Amicone picked up her 750th career win against Seattle earlier this season.

Individual Offense
-Chloe Camarero is the current conference leader in slugging (.828), OPS (1.281), runs (20), and home runs (eight).
-Faith Hoe leads the conference in hits (26), and is second in the Big Sky in batting average (.413) and OBP (.473).
-With 15 runs scored on the season, Mia Rushton ranks fourth in the conference.
-Makayla Donahoo is currently tied for second in the conference with seven stolen bases.

Individual Pitching
-Arissa Henderson, the defending Big Sky Conference Pitcher of the Week, has been lights out for the Wildcats this season. She has a 1.53 ERA, and in her last four appearances has thrown 30.1 IP, a 4-0 record, three complete games, allowed two runs, 12 hits, struck out 37 hitters, and only allowed seven walks.
-Henderson threw a complete game one-hitter against Texas A&M to lead Weber State to its first win over a SEC school in program history.
-In Henderson's most recent outing, she surrendered a hit to the first batter and didn't give up another hit or a walk for the rest of the game as WSU defeated CBU 1-0.
-Mariah Ramirez, the 2021 Big Sky Conference Pitcher of the Year, is the tied with Henderson for the team lead in wins (six) and is only holding opponents to a .246 batting average.
