Wildcats sweep Thunderbirds with 8-0 win

Weber State outscored SUU 25-0 in the three-game series to improve to 6-0 in Big Sky play.
OGDEN - Weber State softball remained undefeated in Big Sky play with a series sweep of Southern Utah. The Wildcats beat the Thunderbirds 8-0 in five innings Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Softball Field to improve to 28-8 overall and 6-0 in Big Sky play.Â
McKell McCuistion started the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning that scored Faith Hoe.Â
Arissa Henderson hit a three-run homer in the second inning that made it 4-0.Â
Lauren Hoe had two RBI singles, one in the third and one in the fourth. Mika Chong drove in a run in the third inning.Â
Amanda Sink got the win for the Wildcats with five innings pitched and five strikeouts with just three hits.Â
WSU beat the Thunderbirds 11-0 and 6-0 in Friday's two games to win the three-game series 25-0. The 'Cats allowed just seven hits in the series.Â
Weber State continues its homestand with another key Big Sky series when the 'Cats host Montana next Friday and Saturday at Wildcat Softball Field.Â
