Wildcats Make Quick Work of Pacific University, Pick Up 7-0 Sweep

Forest Grove, OR - The Weber State men's tennis team completed a dominant 7-0 sweep over Pacific University on Friday morning at the Holce Tennis Courts. The 'Cats improved to 6-5 overall.
WSU got off to a hot start, beginning the match with a trio of doubles victories. Sebastian Buxman and Matteo Savio opened the dual with a 6-0 win over Koby Murata and Josh Matabuena at the No. 3 spot. Tristan Sarap and Elyes Marouani clinched the doubles point for the 'Cats, with a 6-3 defeat against Ben Dubois and Nick Koulisis on court two. Completing the sweep for Weber State were William Zulch and Connor Kruger, winning their match 7(7)-6(4) over Quentin Gonzalez and Aidan Rooney.
The Wildcats continued to dominate in singles play, making quick work of the Boxers. Connor Kruger got things started for the 'Cats, recording a 6-0, 6-4 win at court two. William Zulch defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 spot. Tristan Sarap clinched the dual victory with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 win on court one before Elyes Marouani and Jordan Coutinho added to the lead with a pair of wins at the four and five spots. At No. 6 singles, Matteo Savio capped off the sweep, defeating Aidan Rooney 6-1, 6-0 to finish the day.
