Wildcats top Toreros 12-6 in nine innings

Weber State is 12-15 on the season.
- Weber State quickly found a large 6-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
- San Diego got on the board in the third inning with three runs and then started to chip away at the Wildcats lead recording one run in the fourth and two in the fifth to tie the game 6-6.
- Pushed into extra innings, Weber State found six more runs in the top of the ninth.
- Kiaira Smith hit a home run in the top of the ninth inning to kickstart the 'Cats.
- An Eva Richardson double to center field brought in two RBI and a Gianna Memoli Double to left field brought Richardson home.
- Up 11-6, the 'Cats weren't finished yet. Tori Rey ran home to make the score 12-6 and ended the game in favor of the Wildcats.
- Brooke Merrill took the win for the Weber State team. Pitching 6.1 innings allowing five hits and recording three strikeouts. Merrill improves to 7-6 on the season.
- Kiaira Smith led the Weber State team going 2-for-6 at the plate with two hits one run and four RBI.
- Gianna Memoli and Riley Whalen both totaled two hits. Memoli brought in two runs while Whalen brought in one.
- Weber State went 2-1 on the weekend and now sit 12-15 on the season.

Coming Up
The Wildcats home opener is Wednesday, March 27 at 3 p.m. against the #19 California Golden Bears. Following the mid-week game, the 'Cats host Montana for a weekend series on March 29th and 30th.
