Wildcats Begin Big Sky Conference Championships on Tuesday

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Weber State men's golf program will take to the course at Wigwam Golf Club on Tuesday morning for the Big Sky Conference Championships, in search of the program's second league title in the past three seasons.

Four seniors, in Isaac Buerger, Hayden Banz, Gunnar Knutson and Brendan Thomas, along with sophomore Ty Anderson comprise the lineup for the Wildcats. A fifth senior, Oliver Gothe, is with the team for the championships as an alternate.

Sacramento State enters the tournament as the preseason pick to win the league title. The Wildcats were picked third in the preseason poll, behind second place Northern Colorado and ahead of fourth place Idaho.

With the league down to only four competing programs in men's golf following the departures of Hartford and Binghamton last summer, this year's championship tournament will mark the final Big Sky men's golf championship tournament.

The teams will tee off at Wigwam beginning at 7:30 a.m. MDT and will be on the Gold course, which will play as a 7,071-yard, par 72 layout.
