Wildcats draw in Flagstaff

Flagstaff, Ariz - The Weber State Wildcats women's soccer team registered their first draw of the season in Flagstaff, Arizona, as they tied Northern Arizona 1-1.
The Lumberjacks, playing in their alternate identity SpaceJacks, took an early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute, getting the ball past Freshman Lauren Butorac (Portland, OR/Jesuit).
The two sides exchanged blows for the rest of the half, but no further blood was drawn. At the half, the two sides were even with 2 shots on goal for each side.
Lily Blum (Salt Lake City, UT/Olympus) pushed the equalizer across in the 56th minute on an assist from Tenzi Knowles. It was Blum's 4th goal of the season.
The 'Cats kept the pressure on the Jacks' defensive line for the remainder of the night but were unable to see another shot go into the back of the net.
A Blum shot ricocheted off the right post in the 76th minute, and Oakley Anderson had a shot saved in the 82nd, resulting in the draw.
The 'Cats outshot the Jacks 22-11 on the game, with an 11-5 advantage in shots on frame.
The Wildcats will head north to Greeley, Colorado, to close out the weekend as they will take on the Northern Colorado Bears at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Bears come into Sunday 3-8-5 on the season with an even 2-2-1 mark in Big Sky play.
With two matches to go for both sides, the Wildcats sit in 2nd place in the conference behind the Montana Grizzlies by just 1 point. Montana has accumulated 11 points in conference play on the season, with the Wildcats sitting at 10 points.
