The Wildcats resume tournament play tomorrow against Washington and Belmont.

TEMPE, Ariz. - Weber State softball fell 9-1 to Oregon and 11-0 in five innings to Arizona State on day two of the Littlewood Classic.

Weber State 1, Oregon 9
  • Kiaira Smith got the Wildcats on the board first as she tripled down the right field line allowing Sadie Kirk to find home plate. 
  • Responding in the bottom of the first, the Ducks brought home one of their own to tie the score. To take the lead, three back-to-back hits brought in three more runs to increase the score 4-1 in favor of the green and yellow.
  • The Ducks brought in four more runs in the second inning and another in the sixth to win the game 9-1. 
Weber State 0, Arizona State 11 (5 Inn.)
  • Arizona State put up an early seven runs to start the game.
  • Adding a few more in the third and fourth innings, the Sun Devils secured the game 11-0 in five innings.
  • Riley Whalen and Kiaira Smith both recorded one hit. 
  • Raina Navarro took the loss, pitching 1.1 innings with one strikeout.
