TEMPE, Ariz. - Weber State softball fell to ranked No. 25 Washington and Belmont on the final day of the Littlewood Classic. 

Weber State 0,  #25 Washington 9 (6 Inn.)
  • The Washington Huskies came out with tough offense and defense, putting up seven runs after three innings. 
  • An additional two in the sixth inning earned the Huskies a 9-0 win in six innings.
  • RJ Parra, Jayci Finch and Brooke Merrill were all seen in the circle today with Merrill taking the loss. 
  • Gianna Memoli went 1-for-2 at the plate. 
  • Jordan Hart totaled seven putouts.
Weber State 8, Belmont 12
  • The Bruins were first on the board bringing in two runs in both the first and second innings. 
  • The Wildcats responded in the top of the third with four runs to tie the game. 
  • Belmont quickly took away that advantage bringing home eight runs in the bottom of the fourth. 
  • Weber State rallied at the deficit as Sadie Kirk hit a home run for two RBI in the fifth inning.
  • Riley Whalen singled to shortstop for two RBI in the seventh inning but the 'Cats could not close the gap as the Bruins secured the game 12-8.
  • Whalen went 3-for-5 at bat totaling one run and two RBI.
  • Along with Kirk's home run, she also finished the game with five putouts. 
  • Cali McCraw took the loss, her first of the season, pitching 2.0 innings and totaling two strikeouts.
