The Wildcats wrapped up the Weber State Spring Classic with a handful of dominant performances and ended it the day with a celebration of their seniors. The 'Cats will wrap up the second half of their weekend at the Utah Spring Classic tomorrow, April12.Â
"It's always fun having a track meet at home. We only get to do it once per year — so I'm glad the weather was so beautiful today," head coach Corbin Talley said. "I'm just very grateful after today's meet. Grateful for our team and how hard they worked to put on a good meet—track is unique that way because with all the events going on, a lot of times athletes get to help with the actual execution of the event in addition to participating in other parts of the track meet."Â
Nathaniel Garner, Jake Weathers, Tristan Spalding, Alex Wheeler, Ryan Johnson and Bryce Anderson were recognized as seniors.Â
"I'm also grateful for the support we received tonight from alumni and community," Talley said. "And I am grateful for this group of seniors and what they have meant to our program."
Peter Visser recorded a first place finish in the mile with a time of 4:01.08. Adjusting that to 1500 meters, the event that is normally run during outdoor, and with an altitude adjustment, Vissers time is 3:38.65 and is currently eighth in the NCAA.Â
Noah Kjar, Spalding, Malik Johnson and Wheeler recorded a first place finish in the 4x100 relay with a time of 40.40 and are now second on the all-time list.Â
