LOGAN—Weber State men's track and field had several more seasonal best performances at the Aggie Invitational Friday and Saturday in Logan.
The Wildcats captured the title in three events and had multiple career and seasonal bests with one top 10 performance and one national record.
A highlight of the meet was the performance of sophomore Jeims Molina, who won two events and set a national record.
He was the top collegiate finisher in the discus with a career-best mark of 178-10. The mark was a career best performance by four meters and is also the fourth best mark in Weber State history. It is currently the fifth-best in the Big Sky this season.
In addition, Molina, a native of Alajua, Costa Rica, set a new Costa Rican national record. His throw of 54.50 meters is a new national record, breaking the previous record of 53.87.
Molina also won the title in the hammer throw at 183-09, with WSU's Jake Weathers finishing second and Ryan Johnson in fourth.
Also in the field events, Parker Sagers had a seasonal best mark of 15-00.75 to finish third in the pole vault.
In the track events, Rodee Brow was first in the 400 meters with a seasonal best time of 47.38, currently the fifth-best in the conference. Weber State had the top four finishers in the 400 meters, with Cody Gehrett taking second, Bryson Ottley in third, and Brogan Garrett in fourth.
Noah Kjar had two seasonal bests and a title. He took first place in the 200 meters with a personal best time of 21.74. He also had a seasonal best in the 100 meters at 10.85 to finish in fourth place.
Malik Johnson had two seasonal bests. He was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.44, currently the sixth-best in the Big Sky. He also finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles at 53.48.
Alex Wheeler was third in the men's 200 meter invitational with a time of 21.11.
"We are continuing to see progress going into our regular season finale next week," said WSU head coach Corbin Talley. "Coach Aydlette and Coach Moore are doing a tremendous job developing and prepping their groups. It was fun to see them in action getting so many PR's and season bests today. It's also really nice to have Noah Kjar doing track with us as well. He had a great day in both the 100 meters and 200 meters and has filled in nicely for us in the 4x100 relay."
Weber State will next compete at the BYU Robison Invitational in Provo next weekend, which will be the final meet before the Big Sky Championships.
