The 2025 Big Sky Outdoor Championships will be held Wednesday-Saturday in Sacramento. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
It's Championship Week for the Weber State men's and women's track and field teams. The Wildcats will compete this week at the 2025 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Sacramento. The meet will be held Wednesday-Saturday, May 14-17, at Hornet Stadium and is hosted by Sacramento State.Â
The meet will begin on Wednesday and Thursday with the multi-events. There will be trials of 14 events and finals of eight events on Friday, followed by the finals of 28 events on Saturday.Â

MEN
On the men's side, the Wildcats currently rank in the top five in ten different events, heading into the conference championships.Â
The WSU 4x400 meter relay team set a new school record and posted the second-fastest in conference history earlier this year, and leads the Big Sky and is 16th in the West Region in the event.Â
Senior Alex Wheeler is second in the conference in the 400 meters with a seasonal best time of 46.26. He is also fifth in the Big Sky in the 200 meters heading into the championship. Wheeler won the conference title in the 200 meters at the indoor championships earlier this year.
The 'Cats have two spots in the top five in the steeplechase, with Peter Visser ranking third and Ty Davis in fifth. Bryson Ottley is also fifth in the conference in the 800 meters.Â
In the field events, Ryan Talbot ranks second in the decathlon, and Jake Weathers is fourth in the hammer throw. Jeims Molina is also fifth in the discus and Ethan Ecker is fifth in the javelin.Â
WOMEN
The Weber State women's team enters the conference meet with six spots in the top five in the Big Sky. Senior Kapua Pulotu is first in the Big Sky in the discus. She posted a mark of 171-01 earlier this year, which is currently 41st in the NCAA West Region.Â
Miley Richards is third and Bailey Tovey is fifth in the javelin, and Sarah Spangenberg ranks fourth in the heptathlon.Â
Laurie Murphy currently has the third-fastest time in the 10,000 meters, and the Wildcats are fifth in the 4x100 meter relay.Â
NCAA RegionalsÂ
After the conference championships, those that qualify will compete at the NCAA West First Round meet, May 28-31 in Austin, Texas, looking to qualify for the NCAA Championships.Â
