Wildcat cross country opens 2025 season

Weber State opens the season Saturday at the Utah State meet in Logan.
The Weber State men's cross country team will open the 2025 season at the Utah State Invitational this Saturday in Logan.Â
It's the first of six regular season meets before the Big Sky Championships and the NCAA Mountain Region meet.Â
Saturday's meet in Logan will be a 7K that will begin at 9 a.m. at the Steve and Dona Reeder course.Â
Head coach Corbin Talley returns for his eighth season as head coach of the Wildcats. Weber State was picked to finish third in the Big Sky preseason polls.Â
All eight runners from last season's Big Sky meet are returning for the Wildcats. Weber State finished third in the meet last season.Â
Senior Peter Visser earned All-Big Sky and All-Region honors last season and advanced to the NCAA Championships.Â
Weber State returns several athletes from last season's team that finished third at the Big Sky meet, including senior Peter Visser who earned All-Big Sky honors and advanced to the NCAA Championships last season.Â
Also returning are seniors Ty Davis, Hanokh Gailson, Wesley Kallgren, and Taylor Knight.Â
After Saturday's meet, Weber State has five other meets scheduled before the conference championships on November 1.Â
