The Weber State men's cross country team competed in the Missouri Gans Creek Classic, placing 29th. The Wildcats recorded 704 points.
Peter Visser led the Wildcats, placing 50th overall among 239 runners. Visser crossed with a 23:23.2 time on the 8K course. Owen Rogers was WSU's next finisher with a time of 24:07.2 to finish 142nd. Jacob Peterson finished 165th with a 24:16.4 time.Â
Wesley Kallgreen recorded a 24:36.1 race for 192nd place. Hanokh Gailson wrapped up the Wildcats' top five in 195th at 24:36.8.
"This was probably the deepest field we have faced in over a decade," said WSU head coach Corbin Talley. "The competition was very good and we didn't quite put together the race we wanted. It's one of the races we need to learn from, pick ourselves up, and move forward to some better races in the coming weeks. We know we are much stronger than what we showed today, and I believe we'll show that at conference and regionals this year. We belong among the top teams in the country this year."
The Wildcats will be back in action on October 3 in Pocatello, Idaho, for the Idaho State Invitational.Â
