The Weber State men's track and field team will compete at the Big Sky Indoor Championships in Pocatello, Idaho. The meet will take place February 26-28 inside the ICCU Dome.Â
"We're excited for the Big Sky Championships," Head Coach Corbin Talley said. "The fellas have worked really hard and are ready for some of their best performances of the season."
The first day of the championships will host four of the heptathlon events beginning at 10:15 am, and will run until 2:30 pm.
Day two will see the last three heptathlon events starting at 10 am and ending at 1:15 pm. Field events are slated to begin at 10 am and run through 5:30 pm. Track events will also begin at 10 am and will continue until 7:40 pm, where the finals for the 5,000m and Distance Medley Relay wrap up day two.
Day three will open with finals for field events at 10 am and will run until 1 pm. Track final events will begin at 11 am with the mile. The 4x400m relay will wrap up the championships at 2:30 pm.
"It should be a great team battle. There are a lot of very strong programs in our conference," Talley said. "We should also see a lot of exciting individual matchups as well. Hoping to get as many guys as we can on the podium and in the top eight."
The entire championship meet will be broadcast on ESPN+, with live results recorded through Athletic Live.
"I believe this will be the final track and field meet on the wooden track in Pocatello. It's definitely a historic track, and we're honored to be part of the final conference championships on the boards," Talley said. The facility holds a lot of fond memories for me dating back to competing in high school and college, and the last decade of coaching here at Weber."
The NCAA championships will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas March 12-14.
