Big Sky Championship Week for Weber State track and field

The Big Sky meet will be held May 13-16, hosted by Portland State
It's Championship Week for the Weber State men's and women's track and field teams. The Wildcats will compete this week at the 2026 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Portland State.Â
The meet will be held Wednesday-Saturday, May 13-16, at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon.Â
The multi-events will be held on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be trials for 14 events and finals for 12 events on Friday, followed by finals for 28 events on Saturday.Â
All action will be streamed on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
MEN
On the men's side, head coach Corbin Talley and the Wildcats currently have 18 spots in the top five in the conference performance lists, heading into the championships.Â
Freshman Wyatt Larkins is first in the Big Sky and ranks 17th in the NCAA West Region in the hammer throw. Earlier this year, he set a WSU school record with a mark of 219-01.Â
Freshman Tyler Warnick is second in the conference in the decathlon, which begins on Wednesday. He has a career best total of 7,102 points in the event, the fifth best in WSU history. Brogan Garrett ranks fifth in the decathlon at 6,670 points.Â
Warnick is also second in the conference in the long jump at 24-09.75, sixth-best all-time, and Seth Hall is fifth in the long jump at 24-03.Â
Ethan Ecker is fourth in the javelin at 220-10.Â
On the track, the Wildcats have strength in the distance events and have six of the top seven spots in the 10,000 meters, entering the meet. Tyler Spencer ranks second, with Jacob Peterson third, and Wesley Kallgren fourth.Â
In the steeplechase, the 'Cats have five of the top six spots with senior All-American Peter Visser ranking second at 8:35.74, the fifth-best in WSU history. Owen Rogers is third in the steeplechase, and TJ Warnick ranks fourth.Â
Viser is also fourth in the 5,000 meters heading into the meet.Â
Freshman Colby Jenks is third in the 800 meters after posting the second-fastest time in school history a few weeks ago. Joe Corbridge ranks fourth in the conference in the event.Â
Freshman Jae Macias ranks fourth in the 100 meters entering the meet.Â
WOMEN
On the women's side, head coach Lindsey Adnerson and the Wildcats enter the conference meet with nine spots in the top five in the Big Sky.Â
Saga Hagelin has the top spot in the conference in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Earlier this year, she posted a career best time of 9:57.64 in the event, the fifth-fastest in WSU history. Audrey Camp Cazier ranks fourth in the conference in the steeplechase.Â
Charlotte Wilkinson is third in the 800 meters at 2:06.90. Last month, she nearly broke a 32-year-old school record in the event.Â
Hailey Day is third in the conference in the 10,000 meters at 34:44.36, just off the WSU top 10 list.Â
In the field events, senior Alyssa Hansen Freestone is in the top five in two events. She ranks second in the hammer throw at 188-11, second-best in school history. She is also fifth in the javelin at 147-09. She is a former Big Sky Champion in the javelin.Â
Freshman Lucy Harris enters the conference meet third in the heptathlon, which begins on Wednesday. She posted a career best total of 4,959 points earlier this season, which ranks fourth in school history.Â
Senior Abby Triplett is fourth in the conference in the high jump at 5-07.25. Triplett is looking for her third All-Big Sky performance in her career in the high jump.Â
Shannan Fonua also ranks fifth in the hammer throw
NCAA RegionalsÂ
After the conference championships, those who qualify will compete at the NCAA West First Round meet, May 27-30 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, looking to qualify for the NCAA Championships.Â
