Wildcats roll to 100-61 win over Benedictine

OGDEN - Five players scored in double figures as Weber State rolled to a 100-61 win over Benedictine Mesa Tuesday night at the Dee Events Center.
The win improved the Wildcats to 4-2 on the season, heading in Saturday's matchup with BYU.
Cody John grabbed the opening tip and scored a layup just three seconds into the game and it was all Weber State after that. The Wildcats jumped out to a 26-6 lead midway through the first half and never looked back.
The 'Cats led 45-25 at halftime and started the second half on a 19-2 run to break the game open. The lead was never less than 34 the rest of the way and the 'Cats led by as many as 52 before the 39-point win.
Weber State shot 53 percent from the field and held Benedictine to 32 percent shooting. The Wildcats knocked down 14 3-pointers and grabbed a season-high 54 rebounds. WSU also had 19 assists, five steals and four blocks.
Brekkott Chapman led the way with 18 points and was 6 of 7 from 3-point range. He also had five rebounds, four assists and three blocks.
Jerrick Harding finished with 15 points and five rebounds, while Cody John and Israel Barnes each had 11 points. Zach Braxton had eight points and a career-high 15 rebounds.
Weber State will next host in-state rival BYU Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.
