OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcat softball team is set to host the Utah Utes in the rubber match of the 2022 season series. The Utes won 5-1 in Salt Lake City, and Weber State won 9-5 the following day in Ogden.

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcat softball team is set to host the Utah Utes in the rubber match of the 2022 season series. The Utes won 5-1 in Salt Lake City, and Weber State won 9-5 the following day in Ogden.
WEBER STATE (30-8, 8-0)
- The Wildcats are currently on their second winning streak of at least eight games. Earlier this season the Cats set a school record for longest winning streak in WSU history at 12 consecutive games.
- Weber State is currently undefeated in Big Sky Conference play (8-0), and at home (7-0).
- For the second time in program history and the first time since 2019, Weber State has beaten three teams from power five conferences (Kansas, Texas A&M, Utah).
- WSU has won the season series against the Utes one time in program history (2019).
- This is the final game in WSU's six-game home stand, the Wildcats' longest of the season.
- The Wildcat pitching staff currently has a 3.03 ERA which is the lowest in the Big Sky.
- Wildcat pitchers have shut opponents out on eight occasions – the most in the conference.
- The Cats has surrendered less doubles, triples, home runs, and runs than any other pitching staff in the conference.
- Opponents are only hitting .246 against Wildcat pitching this season.
- Wildcat pitchers have struck out more batters (253) and more batters looking (78) than any other Big Sky school.
- With a .977 fielding percentage, the Wildcat defense has been stellar and has the 12th best fielding percentage in the nation.
- Arissa Henderson's 2.09 ERA leads the Wildcats and is second in the conference. Amanda Sink (3.44), and Mariah Ramirez (3.59) also rank in the Big Sky top ten.
- Opponents are hitting just .231 against Henderson this season, the second lowest batting average of any pitcher in the conference.
- Henderson reached the 100 strikeout mark for the season in WSU's last series, Ramirez is currently at 98.
- The Cats have a conference-leading .295 batting average as a team.
- Weber State leads the conference in runs scored (223) and runs per game (5.87). The Wildcats' runs per game average puts WSU in the top 50 in the nation.
- WSU has 36 home runs this season, second most in the Big Sky Conference.
- The Wildcats lead the Big Sky with 192 runs batted in.
- Weber State is the conference leader with a team on base percentage of .380%.
- Faith Hoe leads the Wildcats and is second in the Big Sky with a .385 batting average, is third in the Big Sky in OBP at .464, and third in the conference with 45 hits.
