OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcat softball team will face off against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds for a three-game series this weekend. With SUU scheduled to go to the WAC after this season, this will be the final series that the two schools play against each other as members of the Big Sky Conference.

WEBER STATE (25-8, 3-0)

-The Wildcats hold a 20-12 lead over their in-state rivals. WSU has won the last six series over SUU, and 13 of the last 15 games against the T-Birds.
-Weber State has won seven consecutive games in Ogden against SUU.
-WSU is coming off of a sweep of Idaho State, moving its winning streak against the Bengals to six in a row.
-For the first time since 2019 and just the second time in program history, the Cats have won three games over teams from power five conferences (Kansas, Texas A&M, Utah).
-As of this writing, WSU sits at number 47 in the national RPI, highest in the Big Sky Conference.
-Weber State is starting a seven game home stand, its longest of the season.

Wildcat Pitching

-The Wildcat pitching staff leads the Big Sky Conference with a 3.20 ERA.
-WSU pitching has allowed less runs than any other pitching staff in the conference.
-Wildcat pitchers have struck out 71 batters looking, more than any other team in the conference.
-Weber State pitchers have surrendered less doubles, triples, and home runs than any other team in the Big Sky.
-Wildcat pitching is allowing a .250 batting average to opponents which is the lowest in the conference.
-The WSU defense has a .973 fielding percentage which ranks the Cats 23rd in the nation.
-Arissa Henderson has a 2.12 ERA, good enough for second place in the Big Sky.
-Henderson is only allowing a .232 average to opponents, third best in the Big Sky.

Wildcat Bats

-Weber State has scored 182 runs this season, second best in the conference.
-The Cats have hit four home runs in a game twice this season (vs Utah, at Idaho State), which set a school record for most home runs by the team in one game.
-With 33 total home runs this year, WSU has hit the second most home runs in the conference.
-In the series finale against Idaho State, WSU set a new school record for most total bases in one game (31), and scored the fourth most runs in one game in school history (17).
-Faith Hoe leads the Wildcats with a .371 batting average.
-Faith also leads the Cats with eight doubles, and leads the conference with two triples.
-Chloe Camarero ranks in the Big Sky's top five in slugging (.670), runs scored (25), stolen bases (seven), and home runs (10).
-Mika Chong was named Big Sky Conference co-Player of the Week after hitting .750 with two home runs and seven RBI last week.
