Weber State heads to Nevada for final pre-season games

•Weber State softball is continuing the 2020 season with a five game weekend at the Wolfpack Classic.
•Weber State will take on University of the Pacific and University of Nevada.

• Senior Takesha Saltern is returning for her final season. She's maintained a level of consistency at that plate that earned her the title of Big Sky Player of the Year in 2019.
• She is currently hitting .329 on the season with a .443 slugging percentage and a .373 on base percentage.
• She's recorded 23 hits (highest on the team) from 53 at-bats including two triples, one double and one homerun.
• Saltern is also 3-4 on stolen bases.
SEASON OPENERS
•Weber State softball has a 5-6 record in season-opening games.
•Mary Kay Amicone is 4-3 in season openers in her time at WSU.
•WSU is now on a one-game winning streak in season openers.
TWINNING IS WINNING
Weber State sophomores Faith and Lauren Hoe are twins. The duo is 1 of 22 sets of twins playing in Division I softball on the same team in 2020.

LAST SEASON WITH WILDCAT SOFTBALL
• Weber State is coming into 2020 after one of the most successful and historic seasons in school and Big Sky history.
• WSU claimed the Big Sky Regular season title for the fourth consecutive year and it was the third time WSU won the Big Sky Tournament.
• Weber State is coming off a 27-21overall record and finished 14-2 in Big Sky play.
• Last year was the Wildcats' third appearance in the NCAA Regional tournament.
• Weber State made history becoming the first school in Big Sky history to win a game in the NCAA Tournament.
• Weber State is returning eight letterwinners from last season and seven starters while adding 10 newcomers.
• Mary Kay Amicone returns for her seventh season as head coach and brought back with her assistant coaches Kristin Delahoussaye and Keven Jensen. She also welcomed Addie Jensen as a new student-assistant coach this year.
